4. Safety & Care Instructions

To maintain the quality and accuracy of your scale, please follow these guidelines:

• For Indoor Use Only: This scale is designed for household kitchen use.
• Stable Surface: Always place the scale on a hard, dry, and flat surface before weighing to ensure accuracy. Avoid carpets or uneven surfaces.
• Do Not Immerse: The scale is not waterproof. Clean the surface with a slightly damp cloth. Do not allow water or any other liquids to get inside the scale.
• Cleaning: Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaning agents. A soft, damp cloth is sufficient.
• Overload Warning: Do not place items heavier than the maximum capacity (11lb / 5kg) on the scale. Doing so can permanently damage the sensors. The LCD will display an error message (“Err”) if overloaded.
• Handle with Care: This is a precision instrument. Avoid dropping or striking the scale.
• Storage: If you do not plan to use the scale for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and corrosion.

5. Getting Started: Battery Installation

Your scale comes with 2 AAA batteries. Please install them before first use.

2. Slide or lift the compartment cover to open it.
3. Insert the 2 AAA batteries, ensuring they are placed according to the polarity markings (+ and -) inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover securely. The scale is now ready to use.

A. Basic Weighing

1. Place the scale on a hard, flat surface.
2. Press the ON/OFF/TARE button to turn the scale on.
3. Wait for the LCD screen to stabilize and display “0 g”.
4. Gently place the object or food you wish to weigh onto the center of the stainless steel platform.
5. The weight will be displayed on the LCD screen.

B. Ultrean Digital Food Scale User Manual Changing Units of Measurement

This scale can measure in 5 different units: Grams (g), Ounces (oz), Pounds and Ounces (lb:oz), Milliliters (ml), and Fluid Ounces (fl’oz).

1. Turn the scale on by pressing the ON/OFF/TARE button.
2. Press the UNIT button to cycle through the available units.
3. Stop pressing when your desired unit is shown on the right side of the LCD display.
4. The scale will remember your last selected unit for future use.

Note: The “ml” and “fl’oz” modes are designed for measuring the volume of water. The density of other liquids (like milk or oil) may result in a slightly different reading.

C. Ultrean Digital Food Scale User Manual Using the TARE Function

The TARE function allows you to weigh ingredients in a container (like a bowl) without including the container’s weight.

1. Turn the scale on and wait for it to show “0”.
2. Place the empty container (bowl, plate, cup) on the scale. The display will show the weight of the container.
3. Briefly press the ON/OFF/TARE button. The display will reset to “0”, effectively ignoring the weight of the container.
4. Now, add your ingredient (e.g., flour, sugar) into the container. The scale will now only display the weight of the ingredient.
5. You can press the TARE button again to weigh another ingredient in the same bowl.

D. Turning the Scale Off

• Manual Off: Press and hold the ON/OFF/TARE button for 2-3 seconds to turn the scale off.
• Auto-Off: To conserve battery power, the scale will automatically turn off after 2 minutes of inactivity.

• Lo: Low Battery. The batteries are running low and need to be replaced.
• Err or EEEE: Overload. The item on the scale exceeds the maximum weight capacity (11lb / 5kg). Remove the item immediately to prevent damage.
• UnSt: Unstable. The scale is on an unstable or uneven surface. Move it to a flat, hard surface.
