Intended use

The Nedis WIFIWK10CGS is an electric water kettle for boiling water. The product can be controlled with the Nedis SmartLife app.
This product is intended for indoor use only.
This product is not intended for professional use.
This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision. The product is intended for use in household environments for typical housekeeping functions that may also be used by non-expert users for typical housekeeping functions, such as: shops, offices other similar working environments, farm houses, by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments and/or in bed and breakfast type environments. Any modification of the product may have consequences for safety, warranty and proper functioning.

Safety instructions

⚠️ WARNING

• Ensure you have fully read and understood the instructions in this document before you install or use the product. Keep the packaging and this document for future reference.
• Only use the product as described in this document.
• This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision.
• Do not drop the product and avoid bumping.
• Do not use the product if a part is damaged or defective. Replace a damaged or defective product immediately.
• Do not use the product if the surface is cracked.
• This product may only be serviced by a qualified technician for maintenance to reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Always fill the product over the MIN to prevent damaging the heat elements.
• Never fill the product over the MAX or under the MIN. Otherwise hot water can spill out of the product.
• Do not remove or open the lid while the water is heating up and when pouring out hot water.
• Make sure the product is finished heating before removing it from the base.
• Do not cover the product when in use.
• The product is subject to residual heat after use.
• Do not touch the hot parts of the product directly.
• Always use the voltage (A.C. Only) marked on the rating label.
• Plug into a grounded outlet only.
• Do not use a timer or a separate remote-control system that switches on the device automatically.
• Do not use an extension cable.
• Do not unplug the product by pulling on the cable. Always grasp the plug and pull.
• Unplug the product from the power source and other equipment if problems occur.
• Do not expose the product to direct sunlight, naked flames or heat.
• Keep the product at a distance from flammable objects such as furniture, curtains and similar.
• Never immerse the product in water or place it in a dishwasher.
• Avoid spillage on the power connector.
• Do not plug or unplug the power cable with wet hands.
• Do not let the power cable touch hot surfaces.
• Do not let the power cable hang over the edge of a table or counter.
• Do not use this product in a bathtub, shower, or water-filled reservoir.
• Do not leave the product unattended when switched on.
• Keep the product out of reach from children when the product is connected to a power outlet or cooling down.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children under the age of 8 and without supervision.

Before first use

⚠️ Never fill the product over the MAX or under the MIN. Otherwise hot water can spill out of the product.

1. Place the product on a stable and flat surface.
2. Plug the power cable A(13) into a power outlet.
3. Press the lid release button A(1) to open the lid A(2).
4. Fill the body A(4) with water.
5. Place A(4) on the base A(8).
6. Fill the product to the MAX indicator A(5).
7. Press the on/off button A(11) to bring the water to a boil (100°C).
   ⚠️-Do not remove or open the lid while the water is heating up and when pouring out hot water.
8. The indicator LED A(7) starts blinking to indicate the water is heating up.
9. A(7) lights up when the selected temperature is reached.
10. A beep will sound.
    ⚠️-Make sure the product is finished heating before removing it from the base.
    ⚠️-Be careful when opening the lid, hot steam may escape.
11. Discard the water.
12. Repeat two times to remove any dust or residue from the manufacturing process.

Installing the app

1. Download the Nedis Smartlife app for Android or iOS on your phone via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
2.  Open the Nedis Smartlife app on your smartphone.
3.  Create an account with your e-mail address and tap Continue.
4.  Enter the received verification code.
5.  Create a password and tap Done.
6.  Tap Add Home to create a Smart Life Home.
7.  Set your location, choose the rooms you want to connect with and tap Done.

Connecting the app

1. Open the Nedis Smartlife app on your smartphone.
2.  Tap + in the top right corner.
3.  Tap the corresponding product group.
4.  Plug A(13) into a power outlet.
5.  Press A(1) to open A(2) .
6.  Fill A(4) with water.
   ⚠️-Never fill the product over the MAX or under the MIN. Otherwise hot water can spill out of the product.
7.  Place A(4) on A(8).
8.  A(9) blinks to indicate the product is in pairing mode.
   ℹ️ If A(9) is not blinking, activate the pairing mode manually. Press and hold A(11) for 6 seconds.
9.  Confirm in the app if A(9) is blinking.

Heating up water

1. Place the product on a stable and flat surface.
2.  Plug A(13) into a power outlet.
3.  Press A(1) to open A(2).
4.  Fill A(4)with water.
   ⚠️-Never fill the product over the MAX or under the MIN. Otherwise hot water can spill out of the product.
   ⚠️-Do not spill any water on the base.
5.  Close A(2).
6.  Place A(4) on A(8).
7. Press A(11) to switch on the product. a. Again press A(11) to heat up the water to 100°C. b. Repeatedly press A(10) to select the desired water temperature. Confirm the selected temperature with A(11).
   ⚠️-Do not remove or open the lid while the water is heating up and when pouring out hot water. The product automatically switches to standby mode.
   ⚠️-Make sure the product is finished heating before removing it from the base.
   ⚠️-Be careful when opening the lid, hot steam may escape.
   ℹ️ Press A(11) to exit standby mode.
   ℹ️ A(9) indicates the selected water temperature. A(7) shows the following colours for other temperatures.

Using the app

There are three ways to control the product with the app.

1. Direct control
   a. Open the Nedis Smartlife app on your smartphone.
   b. Tap the icon of the product to open the corresponding interface.
   c. Set the desired temperature and confirm.
2.  Schedule or automation control
   a. Open the Nedis Smartlife app on your smartphone.
   b. Tap Smart scenes.
   c. Tap + in the top right corner.
   d. Tap Tap to run.
   e. Tap Run the device.
   f. Tap the icon of the product.
   g. Set the desired temperature and confirm.
   h. Rename the created scene and confirm. Make a schedule or open the scene in the app to start heating up the water.
3.  Voice control (in combination with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa)
   a. Open the Nedis Smartlife app on your smartphone.
   b. Open the products settings menu.
   c. Select the desired voice assistant.
   d. Follow the instructions via Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

Cleaning

Before using the product for the first time, thoroughly clean all parts
that come in contact with food.

⚠️Allow the product to cool down before cleaning it.
⚠️Unplug the product before cleaning.
⚠️Do not immerse the product, the power cable or plug in water or other liquids.
⚠️Do not attempt to repair the product. If the product does not operate correctly, replace it with a new product.
⚠️Do not use aggressive chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, acid or acetone when cleaning the product. Clean the product regularly with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Avoid abrasives that can damage the surface.
⚠️Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children under the age of 8 and without supervision.

Descaling the product

ℹ️ Descale your kettle regularly.

1. Place the product on a stable and flat surface.
2.  Press A1 to open A2.
3.  Fill A4 with 700 ml of white vinegar.
4.  Fill A4 up to A5 with clean water.
5.  Close A2.
6.  Place A4 back on A8.
7.  Allow the mixture to sit overnight.
   ⚠️Do not inhale the fumes of the mixture.
8.  Empty A4 above a sink.
9.  Press A1 to open A2.
10.  Fill A4 up to A5 with clean water.
11.  Close A2.
12.  Boil the water following the steps in chapter ‘Using the product’.
13.  Repeat step 8- 12 until the odour of vinegar has been flushed away.
14.  The product is now descaled.
