Getting to know Echo Plus
Action button
You can use this button to turn off the alarm and timer. You can also use this button to wake up Echo Plus.
Microphone Off button
Press this button to turn off the microphones. The Microphone Off button and light ring will turn red. Press it again to turn the microphones back on. Amazon Echo Plus 1st Generation
Light ring
The color of the light ring indicates what Echo Plus is doing. When the light ring is blue, Echo Plus is ready for your requests.
Volume ring
Turn the dial clockwise to increase the volume. The light ring fills in as the volume increases.
Plug in your Echo Plus
Plug the power adapter into Echo Plus and then into a power outlet. You must use the items included in the original Echo Plus package for optimal performance. A blue light ring will begin to spin around the top. In about a minute, the light ring will change to orange and Alexa will greet you.

Download the Alexa App from the app store.
The app helps you get more out of your Echo Plus. It’s where you see an overview of your requests and manage your contacts, lists, news, music, and settings. Amazon Echo Plus 1st Generation
You can also start the setup process from your computer browser at https://alexa.amazon.com.
If the setup process does not automatically start, go to Settings > Set up a new device.
During setup, you will connect your Echo Plus to the Internet, so you can access Amazon services. Please make sure you have your Wi-Fi password.

Where to put your Echo Plus
Echo Plus works best when placed in a central location, at least eight inches from any wall. You can put Echo Plus in a variety of places—on a kitchen counter, the end table in your living room, or a nightstand. Amazon Echo Plus 1st Generation
